Shreveport – Although Marrero appeared to have the lowest cost of living in Louisiana, we’ve saved the best for last. Shreveport tops the charts at 17.00% less than the national average. Their unemployment rate is very nearly 3% lower than the average across the country and the population of this city has only decreased about .54 percent which is relatively impressive when compared to many of the other cities and states throughout the country.
